William Joseph Murphy 75, died at his home on May 7, 2016. Born in Randolph Ma. On October 1, 1940 he was the son of the late Michael J. and Dorothy [Hersey] Murphy. He was raised in Randolph following his school years he enlisted in the armed forces serving in the U.S. Coast guard and the U.S. Army.
After serving his country he was employed by Spector Freight Company as a truck driver, and also at the Sanbornton Recycling Center. William enjoyed spending time with his family, He had a passion for old cars, photography, music, tinkering, the law, inventing, witticisms, playing bingo @ Tripp Center with Sean, bargain shopping, [finding a deal]. William will be remembered for his dance moves and banana splits!
He is survived by his three daughters Patricia L. Murphy of Rumney Theresa A. Gassett of Cape Cod, Kathleen M. Piper of Penacook, Rolline Murphy-Johnson of Washington, his sons Willy J. Murphy of Washington, Sean P. O’Connor of Northfield, and James W. Murphy of Northfield, Daniel T. O’Connor of Concord, Paul O’Connor of Derry, Michael E. O’Connor of Rumney, and his sister Elizabeth Murphy-Dion and her husband Steve Dion of North Carolina, many Grandchildren and great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at the Dupuis Funeral Home Hill Ave. in Ashland on Thursday May 19, 2016 from 6-8 pm. Military Honors will be held at the NH Veterans Cemetery 110 Daniel Webster Highway in Boscawen, NH. on Friday May 20, 2016 at 11am.
