Priscilla Anne Hixon, 75, passed away at her home of natural causes on April 12, 2024, with her family at her side. She was born in Syracuse, New York, the daughter of Allen and Jane Poole. Priscilla grew up in Syracuse, summering on Skaneateles Lake in New York and sailing in Cape Cod. She attended high school at Foxhollow School in Lenox, Massachusetts where she excelled in sports being Captain of the sports she participated in. She also became an accomplished horse rider and participated in many shows jumping horses. Following high school Priscilla attended Syracuse University.
Priscilla came to New Hampshire and became a ski instructor and this is where she met her husband, Peter. They settled in a beautiful old schoolhouse with a pond in New Hampton and this is where she raised her three sons. Being the athletic and hard-working person Priscilla was, she coached many youth sports, taught swim lessons, and gave horseback riding lessons while raising the boys. She took the Ashland High School volleyball team all the way to state finals championship, also coached soccer and skiing at New Hampton School. Priscilla was a ringmaster of horse shows at the Plymouth State Fair. Priscilla became a Paraprofessional at Holderness Central School and fell in love with the Town of Holderness and moved the family to a beautiful farmhouse with acreage. She then worked at Squam Boat Livery for 30 years.
Priscilla loved her home more than anything. Her home brought her peace after a long day of working on the lake or after a chilly day of working outside in the winter. Priscilla was a very creative person and she put a lot of that creative energy into her home and her gardens. She loved having an evening beer and being surrounded by the things she loved which were nature, her home, and her dog Sailor.
Priscilla is predeceased by her parents Allen Poole and Jane Bugden, her sister Linda Mumford and her brother Allen “Butch” Poole. She is Survived by her son Christopher and his wife Pamela, her son Corey, and her son Casey and his wife Sara. She had four grandchildren Dylan, Kendall, Logan, and Nathaniel.
