Born in Manchester on March 11, 1957, Mary was the third child of Jane and John Pillsbury. After attending Plymouth Regional High School and the University of New Hampshire, Mary’s love of writing, art, and her elegant precision led her to study print and design. In 1993 she opened her own print shop and gallery, which ran for a decade in Plymouth. In recent years she devoted herself to running RJ Crowley Moving and Storage.

Both Mary and Bob were deeply involved in community efforts related to justice, public health, and the arts. Such projects included Whole Village, Plymouth Water & Sewer, and the Young Ladies Library Association. Her passion, patience, and intellect made her a valued member of many groups.

Although her life was not as long as expected, it was made full by her joy for living, learning, traveling, and humor. Mary was a dignified model of kindness and integrity. She touched the lives of many and her wise, caring spirit will be truly missed.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 16th, in the greenhouse at the Italian Farmhouse in Plymouth. No flowers, please. Memorial gifts may be made to the Young Ladies Library Association Endowment Fund for the benefit of extraordinary programming at Pease Public Library, c/o the Young Ladies Library Association, 1 Russell St. Plymouth NH.
