Kenneth R. Morrell, 55 died suddenly on April 12, 2016 at Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth. Born on November 29, 1960 he was the son of Roland L. and Patricia [Champagne] Morrell. Ken was raised and schooled in Ashland, graduating from Ashland High School in the class of 1978. Ken went on to Plymouth State College and earned his B.S. in Accounting.
Ken was first employed in the building trades, eventually owned and operated Ken Morrell Forest Products Company, a sawmill concern and most recently was employed at Camp Pemi, and at Robertson Transport. He put his building skills to good use by doing what he loved, on the Habitat for Humanity Project in Ashland, giving back to his community. Ken also loved wood working, skiing, golfing, the Boogie & Blues Festival and coaching his son’s basketball team.
He is survived by his wife Julie [King] Morrell of Campton, his son Jackson Morrell of Campton, his Mother Patricia [Champagne] Morrell of Ashland, his Brother Peter Morrell of Ca., his Sister Valarie Morrell of WA., Nephews Matthew and Adam Morrell both of Ca.
Memorial calling hours will be held at the Dupuis Funeral Home 11 Hill Avenue in Ashland on Sunday April 17, 2016 from 5-7 PM. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Jackson Morrell Education Fund C/O Martha at Meredith Village Savings Bank. Dupuis Funeral Home in Ashland is in charge of the arrangements.
