June Pearle Harriman 94, of Bridgewater died at Franklin Regional Hospital following a brief illness on January 17, 2015. Born in Laconia on June 21, 1920, she was a daughter of Arthur and Mabel Sanborn. June was raised in Laconia where she attended local schools.
June moved to Bridgewater in the 1950’s. She worked at Bailey’s Five and Dime Store for fifty plus years. She will be remembered as the lady at the penny candy counter who loved kids. Prior to that, June worked at Keller’s and Weeks Dairy in Laconia. In 1966 she married James Taylor Harriman, Sr.
June was predeceased by her husband James Taylor Harriman, Sr. in 1997 as well as her sisters Melba Cilley, Christine Fowler, Dorothy Legg and Lillian Bucknam.
She is survived by her sons, James T. Harriman, Jr and his wife Doreen of Bridgewater and Jeffrey C. Harriman and his wife Ginny of Lakeland, Florida. Also survived by three grandchildren; Jamie Berube, Jason Harriman and Colleen Harriman as well as five great grandchildren. She also leaves many cherished nieces and nephews and her lifelong “Fresh Air” kid, Gene Rogers of Florida.
A graveside service will be held at Union Cemetary in Laconia on Friday, May 15th at 11:00 am. Dupuis Funeral Home in Ashland is handling the arrangements. For more info go to dupuisfuneralhome.com
