Joyce A. (Huffman) Rogers, 77, of Holderness and Bedford, NH passed away suddenly on October 10, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 10, 1938 in Keene, NH to Fred and Ida Huffman.
After graduating from Keene High School she was employed by Peerless Insurance Company. It was there that she met the love of her life Edward Rogers. They were married on June 28, 1958 and spent 56 wonderful, happy years together. Joyce dedicated her life to raising her loving family. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren (lovingly referred to as her little pumpkins) deeply and cherished the time she spent with them. She lead a full and spirited life with a positive attitude that was shared with everyone who knew her.
In retirement years Joyce spent her summers on Squam Lake in Holderness, NH. Winters were spent in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., and Myrtle Beach, S.C. Her spare time was spent gardening, reading, knitting, having tea on Saturday’s with her daughters and socializing with her many, many friends. She enjoyed her trips with the Henniker Community Senior Center and her Wednesday knitting group where she officially became a “Knit-Wit.”
Family members include her son Scott Rogers and daughter-in-law Michele, her three daughters and sons in-law, Kimberly and Kirk Dickison, Jeannie and David French, Linda and Jon Clark, 10 grandchildren, and two great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews. Her two sisters Dolly Wright of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Patricia Lee of Florida. She is predeceased in life by her husband Edward and her sister Marion Cowell. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew her.
Calling hours will be held at the Dupuis Funeral Home 11 Hill Ave. in Ashland on Wednesday October 14, 2015 from 5-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday October 15, 2015 at 11am in Holy Trinity Parish Saint Agnes Catholic Church Hill Ave. in Ashland.Dupuis Funeral Home in Ashland is handling arrangements.
