EDWARD L. ROGERS

Edward L. Rogers, 84 of Holderness, NH and formerly of Bedford, NH passed away peacefully August 1, 2013 following a period of declining health.

He was born June 24, 1929 in Holderness, NH to Leon and Delia (Clancy) Rogers.  After graduating from Ashland High School he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served for four years as a Military Police Officer in the 62nd MP Highway Patrol in Germany.  Later he attended the University of New Hampshire earning a degree in Business Administration.

Ed worked his entire career for New Hampshire Insurance/AIG Company where he retired as an officer of AIG after 40 years.

After his retirement he moved with his wife to his family homestead in Holderness, NH where he spent many summers with his family on Squam Lake.  Winters were spent in New Smyrna Beach, Fl and Myrtle Beach, SC.

A very caring man, Ed was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in his vegetable garden and puttering in his workshop.  He was also a private airline pilot and enjoyed flying.

Family members include his loving wife of 55 years, Joyce A. (Huffman) Rogers, his three daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and Kirk Dickison, Linda and Jon Clark, Jeannie and David French, his son Scott Rogers and daughter-in-law Michele, ten grandchildren and two great grandsons.  He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

 

Services:

Calling Hours will be held at the Dupuis Funeral Home Hill Avenue in Ashland on Sunday evening August 4, 2013 from 5-7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday August 5, 2013 at 11am at Saint Agnes Catholic Church Hill Avenue Ashland, burial with military honors will be held in Green Grove Cemetery Ashland at 11am Tuesday August 6, 2012.
