Alphonse Z. Plante, 92 died at his home with his wife at his side on September 2, 2015. He was born in Somersworth on November 21, 1922 the son of Henri and Yvonne [Turmelle] Plante. He was raised in Somersworth where he attended local schools.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II. Following the war he returned home and was employed in the Textile Industry in Rochester. In 1969 he relocated to Ashland and was employed at L.W. Packard Woolen Mills as a loom fixer for many years.
Al was married to Carolyn Ober on March 15, 1974 and shared 41 years of marriage. He was a member of the Dupuis-Cross Post #15 American Legion in Ashland, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and working on his home. He was predeceased by his 2 sisters Stella Couterier and Irene Ramsey.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years Carolyn [Ober] Plante of Ashland, 2 sons David Plante and Stephen Plante both of Florida, 2 daughters Joanne Skids of Meredith, and Carol Lopez of Virginia, 2 step-daughters Caron Thomas of Arizona, and Victoria Thomas of Laconia, Grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
