Allen Richard “Dick” Mason 86, died at Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth on February 21, 2017,following a period of declining health. Born in North Haverhill on October 19, 1930 he was the son of Earl and Alice [Metcalf] Mason.
Dick was raised in Lyman, NH. on his grandparents farm He attended Elementary School in Lyman and was a graduate of Lisbon High School. Following his school years Dick was employed at the First National in Lisbon. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1953 in Korea.
In 1955 Dick relocated to Ashland to manage the First National Store. He was also employed for many years at Adam’s Market in Plymouth, Crescenti’s Market, and at the Pemi Bank. Dick was a member and Chaplin for Dupuis-Cross Post # 15 American Legion in Ashland, a faithful member of Saint Marks’ Episcopal Church in Ashland. He enjoyed gardening, animals, his family, and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Marilyn [Ullom] Mason of Ashland, his sons Tom Mason and companion Ellen Danyow of Campton, and Ray Mason and companion Lisa Rollins of Ashland.
Calling hours will be held at the Dupuis Funeral Home 11 Hill Avenue in Ashland on Saturday February 25, 2017 from 2-4 pm.
