Valerie Niggl Obituary

Valerie J. (Hawkins) Niggl, 72, of Port Charlotte FL, passed away on the evening of February 23, 2024, with her loving family by her side.

She was born on November 13, 1951, in Ashland, NH to Ramona (Lindsay) and Rudell Hawkins.

Valerie grew up in Ashland and moved to Raymond, NH where she raised her children and worked at the Lamprey River Elementary School for 30 years.  She moved to Florida after her retirement.

Throughout her lifetime she enjoyed many hobbies like playing darts at the Raymond VFW, where she met her husband, and bowling at Striker’s East in Raymond.  She and Bob enjoyed cruising to warm places and brought each of their grandchildren with them.  Her baking was legendary.  She loved country music, the Boston Celtics, and her warm home in Florida.  But her passion was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Valerie is survived by her husband, Bob of Port Charlotte, her brother Rudell and his wife Kathy of Laconia, NH, children Melody Currier and her husband Jude of Merrimack, NH and Bill McGall and his wife Vicky of Hudson, NH, stepchildren Sandra Lowery of RI and Stephen Niggl of MA, 6 grandchildren Spencer McGall and Ian Currier of NH, Nathan and Liam Currier of ME, Sydney Burke of FL, Bella Lane of MA and Cristian McGall of NH, her great-grandchildren Devan, Danielle, Dante, and Darius of NH and her best friend of more than 50 years, Linda Richard, her husband Fred and their family of Raymond, NH, several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, and her sisters, Debbie, and Sharon.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations be made to your local animal shelter or The Animal Welfare League of Port Charlotte.
